Someone told me that you can give a dog a pill that will stop the bleeding.

No, have her spayed. Or, if she’s a show dog and must remain unaltered, invest in a pair of doggy panties (available at most pet stores) with disposable liners to keep her from spoiling your furniture and carpets.
