yes. My dog gets a really long drink of water, then he licks the couch. it gets dog slobber ALL over the couch and is really annoying. I have 2 questions…
1) Is this a “normal” dog behavior?
2) Is this scent marking in a way?

This can be normal, dogs are mysterious…
Was the couch cool? Maybe he was hot and that felt nice on his tongue. One time my dog licked the fridge for a couple of minutes on a hot day.
