just wanted to know if it was safe to put down cedar shavings for puppies? If they arent is there any suggestions to help the puppy smell?

Cedar shavings are fine. Make sure that they are not real course pieces of shavings, it should be more of a finer shaving, with no big pieces or sticks, as this can cause traumas (sticks poking in the feet, or eyes, although uncommon, it could happen)
