What is the probability they choose two black puppies?

Question by Amber: What is the probability they choose two black puppies?
A kennel has 3 black puppies and 4 brown puppies. If someone is randomly choosing puppies, what is the probability they choose two black puppies?

With that being said, what is the probability they choose two brown puppies?

Best answer:

Answer by Zero
In all are 7 puppies…
a. 3/7 + 2/6 = 32/42 = 16/21 (If given that the person chose a black puppy and must select another without putting it back).
b. 4/7 + 3/6 = 45/42 = 15/14 (With same logic as a.).
