My dog had puppies a week ago and she licks up after the puppies. I know this is normal, but how long will she do this? When am I going to need to clean up after them?

Mothers will usually “clean up” after their puppies until they are in the weaning stage (between 3 and 5 weeks). Once you start the puppies on solid food, the mother will notice the change (for lack of a better description!) and back off on the cleaning.
